David Sakumura
Team Coach, Recreational Instructor |
David has been coaching gymnastics since 1974,
working for several different gyms in Kansas City before opening
Lawrence Gymnastics Academy in 1994. In addition to
administrative duties, he is an assistant coach to the women’s
competitive team and still enjoys teaching recreation classes as
well. David is a USAG Professional Member and is
Safety Certified.

Carol McGarity
Gym Manager and
Preschool Instructor |
Carol is an enthusiast of children and
gymnastics. She has been coaching gymnastics to preschoolers for
eight years. Carol came to Lawrence Gymnastics Academy in the
summer of 2002.
Carol is the General Manager of LGA. She is a USAG Professional Member, KAT
Certified, MELPD Certified, and Safety Certified. |

Jenna Brewer
Womens USAG team head coach, Recreational and
Preschool Instructor. |
Jenna was a competitive gymnast for over
11 years in Wichita, KS. She competed as a Level 10 gymnast for
four years and qualified for several Regional Championships and
Level 10 Nationals. She is currently a sophomore at the
University of Kansas majoring in Human Biology/Pre-Med.
Jenna is currently our Womens USAG team head
coach and
also coaches Recreational Classes. She is a USAG Professional Member and
Safety Certified. |

Kim Baker
Womens Team Director, Birthday Party Director
Level 4 and 5
Girl's Team Coach,

Kim was a competitive gymnast for LGA as
well as competitive cheerleader and high school gymnast for
Lawrence Free State High School. Kim is currently a student at
the University of Kansas majoring in social work.
Kim is our birthday party director as well as
our Girl's Team Director and Level 4 and 5 team coach. |

Vincent Pigno
Adult Open Gym |
Vincent has been coaching gymnastics for
4 years. He has an extensive background in dance and has also
been a break dancer for the past 5 years. He is studying
Mathematics at the University of Kansas and is going into the
school of education.

Randy Laggart
Boy's Recreational Director, Gym Bus Driver and Instructor |
Randy participated in gymnastics for seven years. Randy
attends the University of Kansas and is CPR & First Aid
certified, an Eagle Scout, a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon
Do. Randy teaches boy's recreational classes, drives and
teaches in our gym bus, and works open gym's and birthday
parties. |

Gina Goldman
Preschool Instructor |
Gina was a competitive gymnast for 10
years and a varsity high school gymnast for four years.
Gina is attending the University of Kansas and is currently a
Sophomore.
Gina teaches preschool classes here at LGA. |

Jalon Grogan
Preschool Program Director and Parents Morning Out Director |
Jalon has been a "gymnastics mom" for
seven years. She has three daughters who attend LGA-one on the
Women's Competitive Team and two in the preschool program. Jalon
is a former elementary school teacher and taught preschool-sixth
grade in Nebraska and Florida.
Jalon is the preschool Program Director and
Parents Morning Out Director. |

Megan Barnes
Preschool and Recreational Instructor |
Megan was a competitive gymnast for seven
years and a cheerleader in high school for three years. Megan is
currently a Junior at the University of Kansas and majoring in
architecture.
Megan teaches preschool classes and girl's
recreational classes. |

Vanessa McCoy
Girl's Rec Director/Team Coach, Recreational Instructor |
Vanessa was a Level 8 competitive gymnast
in USAG and an AGA Senior Level 8. She has been coaching
gymnastics for 6 years as well as track and All-Star
Cheerleading. Vanessa is now training and competing in
Olympic-style weightlifting and is hoping to compete in the 2008
Olympics! Vanessa coaches the Level 3 and 4 Girls Teams, helps
coach optional girls,
teaches recreation classes, and works our birthday parites. She
is also First -Aid/CPR certified and a USAG safety certified. |

Erin Berner
Preschool and Recreational Instructor |
Erin participated in tumbling for eight
years, dance for 10 years, and was a also a cheerleader in high
school. Erin is currently a Sophomore at Johnson County
Community College.
Erin teaches preschool and recreational classes
as well as open gym's and birthday parties. |
