Introduction To Recreational Gymnastics
Our recreational gymnastics program is designed to introduce children to
basic gymnastics positions and skills while developing coordination, strength
and flexibility -- all in a positive, highly active and fun learning
environment.
Beginners Classes are
designed for children with very limited or no experience in gymnastics
instruction. On Floor Exercise, focus is on basics such as rolling
skills, headstands, and cartwheels. On apparatus equivalent the
fundamental building blocks of more advanced skills are taught. Your child will have a great time learning how to move
gymnastically!
Intermediate Classes
begin to introduce more advanced skills on all apparatus.
Handstands, Round-offs, and headsprings are examples of Floor Exercise
skills taught.
Advanced Classes
continue to introduce gymnasts to more advanced skills. Children
work on Floor skills such as front and back walkovers and handsprings.
At this level gymnasts are encouraged to participate in local low-keyed
competitions.
Girls Recreational
Gymnastics
Athletes will develop skills on the vault,
uneven parallel bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. All girls
recreational classes focus on individual progress with a
coach-to-gymnast ratio of 1:8.
Boys Recreational Gymnastics
Athletes will develop skills on floor
exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and the high
bar. Boys will also develop strength and flexibility which are
basics for advancement in other sports.
Trampoline 'n
Tumbling (TNT)
In trampoline and tumbling classes, our goal is for your athlete to gain
strength, coordination, and control of their body while developing basic
tumbling and trampoline skills in a fun learning environment. These
classes introduce beginners to tumbling and trampoline and allow more
advanced athletes develop higher level skills. TNT classes are Co-Ed.
